The Biggest Loser Reality TV Show South Africa 2008 Tower designed and erected for Bungy Jumping by Carl Johannesburg and Margate Beach 2004-2007 Bungy Cord Testing
Testing of Bungy Jump Cords in the late 90's leading to modern Cords able to do 800 jumps with zero defect. Dozens of Cords were snapped over a period of 5 years. The aim was to get them to snap along the 'body' and not at the 'ends'. This was finally achieved mid 2001 which meant the 'ends' or the 'knots' had surpassed the strength of the actual rubber. Note: We retire cords at a mere 150 jumps, even though there is zero defect at 800 jumps and that we have tested cords to more than 1000 jumps.
